The Governor’s Task Force on the Volunteer Fire Service will be conducting regional meetings to solicit input from the volunteer fire department community regarding the issues and challenges that they are facing everyday throughout Ohio. It is extremely important that the volunteer community participate in these meetings so that the Task Force can clearly understand the problems so that potential solutions can be explored. In addition, a separate survey will be distributed later this summer that will also be seeking some input from the volunteer firefighting community that will also help guide the work of the Task Force. The regional meetings and the completion of the future survey are very important, and I encourage full participation so that we can preserve the critical services that our volunteer fire departments provide to the public.
